Bill Cosby and Roman Polanski expelled from Film Academy

Actor Bill Cosby and director Roman Polanski were expelled from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organization which hosts the Oscar awards. The decision was made by the Board of Governors of the academy. Cosby’s conviction of aggravated indecent assault and numerous sexual assault allegations have cost his academy membership. Polanski was evicted because of a statutory rape case from 1978 for which he fled the country.
