Ireland abortion referendum passes with a majority saying Yes

Ireland’s referendum on abortion passed by a landslide with 66.4% votes to repeal a constitutional amendment that bans abortion under all circumstances. Abortion rights activists and yes voters celebrated the landmark vote. This polling comes in the wake of UN’s Human Rights Council calling on the Irish government to reform its laws when a woman named Amanda Mellet was forced to leave the country to terminate a non-viable pregnancy.
