Google shuts down Google plus after breach
The company announced that the bug was located in the Google+ People API. Google+ users can access their profile data through third-party apps and also allow a third-party app to access the public profile information of a user’s friend. But that was not it, Ben Smith, Google fellow and vice president of engineering, said that the bug allowed third-party apps to access users data that was marked private.
