FIFA World Cup 2018: Germany loses to Mexico in the opener
Defending World Cup champion Germany lost to Mexico 1-0 in the World Cup opener. This tournament has other surprises as well including Iceland drawing Argentina and Portugal drawing Spain. 35 minutes into the game, Mexico had its big moment when it grabbed possession near midfield and exploded forward on a through ball to Javier Hernández. This loss marks Germany’s first loss in a World Cup opener since 1982.
