Telegram App banned by a Russian court
A court in Moscow granted authority to Roskomnadzor, the watchdog for Communications and Technology to ban the Telegram App. The request was granted as Telegram failed to provide back door entry for Russian security services to read encrypted messages. Lawyers of Telegram decided to skip the hearing in protest. Though Telegram can appeal the verdict, Roskomnadzor has the rights now to shut down Telegram immediately.
