US President Donald Trump has announced the withdrawal of United States from the international nuclear deal with Iran on grounds that the deal is defective.  As a result, economic sanctions against Tehran will be reimposed. This move is Trump’s most significant foreign policy decision so far. Britain, France and Germany have issued a joint statement expressing “regret and concern” and have pledged their “continuing commitment” to terms of the agreement.
