General V.K. Singh of India visits North Korea
Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Gen. V.K. Singh visited Pyongyang for talks with the North Korean government. This is the first visit by a senior Indian official to North Korea since 1998. During the unannounced visit, Mr. Singh met Vice-President Kim Yong Dae and discussed political, regional, economic, educational and cultural issues. Also discussed were the peace initiatives with South Korea and the proposed talks with the United States.
