US Senate voted on a bill reinstating net neutrality rules
The US Senate voted on a bill reinstating the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) net neutrality rules which require internet service providers to treat all web traffic equally. The bill was passed on a 52-47 margin with three Republicans joining the 49 Senate Democrats. Most Republicans argue that the net neutrality rules are unnecessary and burdensome for broadband providers. However, polls on the issue consistently show public support for net neutrality.
